英系怀特摩尔拉布拉多？
我见过的最蠢的犬舍名字，没有之一 。跟这个英文名差不多的还有“爱之脉”、“金宝家园”等等。这些名字听上去很有文艺范，但翻译过来完全就是瞎编。 先看看“怀特·摩尔拉布拉多”是什么意思： “怀特”是指“来自怀特的拉布拉多”；“摩尔”是指“来自摩尔的拉布拉多”。合起来是“来自某某的拉布拉多”的意思。
“某某”可以是任何地名，比如“来自北京拉的布拉多”或者“来自德州拉布拉多”，反正只要把“怀特”和“摩尔”换掉就行了。 “拉布拉多”则指我们熟知的拉布拉多猎犬。 所以“怀特·摩尔拉布拉多”听起来像是在说某一品种的狗，而实际上只是指某地（或某人都叫某某）的狗。 我不知道这名字是怎么想出来的，但真的应该奖一个“最有创意的名字”给起这个名字的人。
顺便说一下，这种用“某某”代指地名的做法是中国传统命名方式（参见“朱寿伯”、“张磨刀”），现在却流行到了国外（当然国内也有，但比较少见）！感觉好像老外都特别喜欢这种含混的名字。
比如有个叫Chris Guillebeau的博客作者写了一本书叫《极简生活法则》，介绍如何过一种更精简、高效的生活。他的书在亚马逊网站上评论很火爆并且有5星好评，但看完之后我只能说：极简生活？呵呵 。 随便翻到一本就有这么多叫“John”的人给这本书五星好评： “This book is amazing. I have started to reduce the amount of stuff that I own and now live a life with less clutter， more time and happier memories. It's about finding what you need in order to be happy，not having what everyone else has. You will save money on clothing by simply not buying as much， you won't need to drive to work if you bike or walk. There are so many little things that we can all do to make our lives simpler. This book is a great place to start. ” 这简直就像中文里那种“说得好不如做得好”的点评。
再来看几个“The …… Of …..”结构的书评： “You are never too old to learn new tricks. Reading this book was like watching my mom go through her purse for the third time trying to find her glasses.
